It's a race with no forgiveness: hundreds of miles of silt, rock, and washboard, run through some of the most unforgiving terrain in North America, where the truck that finishes has usually earned it as much as the one that wins.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eOur SWB G-Wagen was originally built for the Sonora Desert Rally and was based on the original Jacky Ickx Dakar G-Wagen. \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003escheel-mann entered that race, and the seats went with it running the Mexican 1000 in the Vintage Short Wheelbase 4x4 class. The cockpit was equipped with scheel-mann Vario R seats holding both driver and co-driver through it, real support through hours of punishment the body doesn't easily forget, and real safety when the terrain, inevitably, tried to test it.
